THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: PRINCE CASPIAN ***
The second big-screen installment of C.S. Lewis' "Chronicles of Narnia" was less well received than its predecessor, the magical re-telling of "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe." Although the special effects are special, the plot is less engaging. As the title character, Ben Barnes is no match for the first movie's White Witch. PG, 144 minutes

WANTED ***
Cult director Timur Bekmambetov ("Night Watch" and "Day Watch") brings his flair for reality-defying action to this shoot-'em-up about a cuckold (James McAvoy) who discovers that, like his long lost father before him, he's part of a secret brotherhood of assassins called the Fraternity. Helping him are fellow members Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman. R, 110 minutes

THE X-FILES: I WANT TO BELIEVE **
Six years after the sci-fi TV series left the air, creator Chris Carter and stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson return for a second theatrical go-round. Billed as a stand-alone story for those who never followed, or have forgotten, the show's mythology, it will nevertheless appeal mostly to fans who can't get enough of Scully and Mulder. PG-13, 104 minutes
