TAMPA - RedLetter1 has new digs and the owners are throwing a party to break in the space Saturday.
The guys at the Ybor City custom tattoo shop and art gallery will host "Trilateral," an exhibit showcasing new works by west coast tattooists Edu Cerro from Skull and Sword in San Francisco and Henry Lewis from Samuel O'Reilly's in Santa Cruz. RedLetter1 co-owner Phil Holt will also have artwork on display.
"They [the artists] are all friends of ours and they share the same ideas and visions as us," says Jeff Srsic, who co-owns RedLetter1 with Holt and Lucky Mathews. "It's important to have the art shows to inspire us and to bring really cool artwork to Tampa."
The exhibit's opening reception also doubles as the grand opening of the new space, which stands next door to the Laughing Cat Italian restaurant on 15th Street in Ybor City. It's barely a block away from the old Eighth avenue location, which is closing.
"The new space is twice the size of the old space," says Srsic, who adds the art will be on display for the entire month of October. "The old shop was all in one room, and now we will be able to focus on [both] art and our tattooing."
