Ryan Seacrest, Simon Fuller, Paula Abdul and some previous "American Idol" winners, including Carrie Underwood, Jordin Sparks and David Cook, are expected to walk the "blue carpet" tonight at a private sneak preview party for the new "American Idol" experience opening Saturday at Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando.
Located at the Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park, the "Idol" stage show takes place in a 1,000-seat indoor theater inspired by the actual "American Idol" set in California.
Designed to reflect the best and brightest elements of the TV show, "The American Idol Experience" will feature four shows daily at which amateur singers will compete for a chance to get the inside track to an "Idol" audition.
Theme park guests who watch these "Idol" shows in a 1,000-seat theatre will vote to select the winners.
Aspiring singers can audition daily at the park and are first screened by a Disney's Hollywood Studios casting director for the opportunity to be cast in one of the preliminary theme park shows that same day.
Reportedly the guest list for the media party today includes 20 former "Idol" contestants. Theme park guests today can get a glimpse of them during a motorcade at 4:30 p.m.
