Ahh, Super Bowl XLII. I remember it well. (So I don't remember the teams, or the score, or any plays.)
The commercials are another story. Every year for at least a decade now, I have spent Super Bowl Sunday writing about the best and worst commercials. I'll be doing it again this Sunday. All the top commercials from the last bowl are online somewhere. Most are on YouTube. But the Nielsen Company has a complete breakdown of every ad that aired with a link to a video of the spot.
Here's a look at a popular commercial from each of the past 10 Super Bowls. You can find more commercials from the past 10 years at the link above. All of the clips below are from Nielsen Media.
At the end of the Giants' victory over the Patriots, Republican Bill Frist and Democrat James Carville come together over a soda.
While the Colts and the Bears take a break, Robert Goulet drops in and wreaks havoc on a sleepy office staff.
TV action hero MacGyver makes an appearance during the 2006 game between the Steelers and the Seahawks.
The sight of the new line of Chevy cars lands kids in a world of trouble while the Patriots play the Panthers.
Linebacker Terry Tate is brought in to motivate office employees while the Buccaneers squash the Raiders.
While the Patriots take on the Rams in a close game, the beer company spoofs its own "Wassup" campaign.
The business solutions company steals the show during the Rams-Titans matchup with an epic story about cat herders out West.
The job-search site makes a name for itself with its satire on childhood dreams during the Broncos-Falcons game.
