Some musical acts want to make political statements. Others want awards, critical acclaim or to influence public policy.

Not Snoop Dogg.

He wants to invite everyone to just roll up for the "Blazed and Confused Tour."

"A nonstop party from set to set," Snoop says about the summer tour that hits the USF Sun Dome Friday. Snoop proclaims that the only point of the whole tour is "having fun." Remember when almost every summer tour was like that?

Snoop is co-headlining with hip-hop group Slightly Stoopid. His West Coast crew will play alongside Stephen Marley and Mickey Avalon.

Snoop (aka Calvin Broadus) spoke recently to The Tampa Tribune via e-mail. He won't do telephone interviews or on camera. What follows is pure, unedited Snoop, sharing his thoughts on the tour, his fellow musicians, the death of Michael Jackson and his upcoming album, "Malice In Wonderland."

Q: How did you and Slightly Stoopid come together for this tour?

A: My people got with their people and made tha blueprint and then I met with tha homeyz and realized it was a connection that had to be taken to tha road. They real good people and got a lotta chemistry with Bigg Snoop Dogg. This is jus tha beginning, ya dig?!?

Q: What do Stephen Marley and Mickey Avalon bring to the tour?

A: Tha fans got a lil of everythang on this tour. We like a cake and everyone gotta bring their piece. When u put it all together — its gonna be a party for tha ages and sumthin for ya to want more of......There aint no tour like this and there aint no party like a West Coast party cuz a West Coast party don't stop.

Q: You say "having fun" is the point of the entire tour, what can concert-goers expect from the "Blazed and Confused" tour?

A: A non-stop party from set to set.Biggest show and party of tha summer. Timeless music, dope shows, purple haze!!!! We doin it city to city and had a blast so far and I'm sure Tampa aint no different, ya dig?!?

Q: Where were you when you heard the news Michael Jackson passed away? Will there be any special dedications to the King of Pop?

A: I was in tha studio and it was very sad to see a legend like Mike pass on. I might have to do sumthin special for Mike on this tour. Stay tuned ya dig?!?

Q: What is next on the horizon?

A: Touring til end of August in North America and Europe. "Malice In Wonderland" droppin Thanksgiving. I got sum certified bangaz on there.
