12 ROUNDS
WWE star John Cena takes his playacting skills to the big screen in this Renny Harlin (yes, he's still making movies) action flick about a cop forced to match wits with a diabolical criminal. To save his kidnapped lady love, Cena must muscle his way through a dozen ridiculously elaborate hoops the screenwriters dreamed up to maintain interest in this second-rate shoot-'em-up. PG-13, 102 minutes
EASTBOUND & DOWN
Danny McBride (of "The Pineapple Express" and "The Foot Fist Way) stars in this six-episode HBO series as a loutish, substance-abusing ex-baseball star hoping to make his way back to the big leagues. In the meantime he's teaching P.E. at his old high school and crashing with his brother's family. Lots of comedy bigwigs had a hand in the show, including Will Ferrell in a cameo as a car salesman. Not rated, 180 minutes
PRINCESS PROTECTION PROGRAM
Don't some titles just scream "rent this for your preteens and then hide in a soundproof bunker?" In this Disney Channel original movie, Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez play, respectively, a princess who has to go into hiding and her tomboy cousin. Despite their differences, one suspects that before the final credits roll they will have learned valuable lessons from each other. G, 89 minutes
