Wednesday's episode of "Glee" promises more musical moments, more high school romance, more problems from the geeks in the glee club, and more of Jane Lynch's over-the-top villainous character, Sue Sylvester.
And any episode with Lynch in it is worth watching.
Lynch, 49, plays the cocky, insensitive, wicked and power-hungry coach of the award-winning cheerleading squad.
She may be best known for her supporting roles as quirky characters in Christopher Guest comedies such as "Best in Show and "A Mighty Wind" and Judd Apatow comedies such as "The 40-Year Old Virgin."
Airing at 9 p.m. Wednesdays on Fox, "Glee" is one of the success stories of this season.
Created by Ryan Murphy, who gave us the dark, twisted "Nip/Tuck," this dramedy set in a high school is about a well-meaning but wimpy high school teacher (Matthew Morrison), who wants to lead the misfits in the glee club to victory in the state championships.
Will has other problems, too. His self-centered wife is faking a pregnancy and a fellow teacher has a crush on him.
That's the adult story. The kids in the glee club have their own soap opera bubbling. The star quarterback has been a closet singer. And now that he's in the club, he is torn between an ego-driven singer who should be his girlfriend and the blond cheerleader who is his girlfriend. She's secretly pregnant by another guy.
Also in the glee club: a chunky wannabe Beyoncé; the gayest kid in school; a nerd in a wheelchair; and a shy Asian girl.
Every week there's a wild variety of songs featured. Among them Wednesday: "Bust a Move," "I Could Have Danced All Night," "Sweet Caroline," "Thong Song" and "What a Girl Wants." You can't get more diverse than something from "My Fair Lady" and a song that celebrates underwear and bikinis.
"Glee" will be taking a two-week break for Fox's coverage of the World Series, but the cast is scheduled to sing the national anthem for Game 3 on Oct. 31.
SHARK TANK: Florida is well-represented on the season finale of "Shark Tank" at 8 tonight on ABC. Jeff Wolsky, a Pasco County resident who sells custom-made bobblehead dolls, will be featured.
Wolsky, whose online business has sold more than 1 million bobblehead dolls worldwide, said he wants to take his business to the next level by opening kiosks in shopping malls.
He and his wife, Christine, offer every kind of bobblehead — from those designed by people who want bobbling replicas of themselves or their friends and loved ones to bobbleheads of the rich and famous.
Also on tonight's episode is a Miami man who invented a hollow golf club that serves as an instant port-a-potty for the golfer who has gotta go on the course.
BATMAN MUSICAL: Coming up at 7:30 p.m. Friday on the Cartoon Network is a special musical episode of the animated series "Batman: The Brave and the Bold."
Neil Patrick Harris ("How I Met Your Mother") guest-stars as the Music Meister, a villain whose musical voice can turn superheroes like Green Arrow, Aquaman and Black Canary into singing and dancing fools.
It's not every day you see cartoons with elaborate Busby Berkeley-style numbers. The five original songs will be released on iTunes Saturday.
