DADE CITY - The 13th annual Kumquat Festival will be a celebration of community with live music, food and shopping.
The free street fair will take place in downtown Dade City from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30. Each year the festival gets bigger and better in celebration of the tiny citrus gem known as the kumquat.
Festivities include a farmer's market, wagon rides, antique cars and tractors, kumquat-themed dishes and craft shows.
The Kumquat Festival celebrates the harvest of kumquats, a sweet and sour fruit that is a member of the citrus family. Kumquats are eaten skin and all and are a pleasant addition to many dishes and desserts.
The events on Saturday will include:
•Arts and crafts show
•Farmer's market
•Car and truck show
•Antique fire trucks
•Wagon rides
•Music stage with entertainment
•Quilt show
•Indoor entertainment
•Volkssport 5K and 10K Family Walk
•American Cancer Society 5K Run
