Swap a dress at Operation Prom Dress

Published: March 12, 2010

SPRING HILL - First United Methodist Church's Youth Group is sponsoring Operation Prom Dress.

With prom and spring formals approaching, instead of spending money on another dress that may only be worn once, Operation Prom Dress will offer the opportunity to exchange a dress for another one that is almost new.

Dress and shoe donations will be accepted from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 20, in the Lighthouse building of the church located at 9344 Spring Hill Drive. Dresses must be no more than four years old, clean and in like-new condition, on a hanger, and preferably in a dry cleaning bag. Shoes must be like new and in a box or a clear plastic zipper bag.

Upon dropping off a dress or shoes, a ticket will be distributed which will be exchanged for a gown of your choice during the swap to be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 27, at the Lighthouse building.

Since this is a charitable event, donations of dresses will also be welcome, even for those not interested in attending the swap event. Any dresses or shoes remaining at the end of the swap will be sold.

For those that do not donate a dress but would like to purchase one, the donation is $10 for a dress of choice and $5 for a pair of shoes. For more information, call 352-683-2600.
