The Italian Club Ladies Auxiliary hosted International Ybor on the Runway on May 3 as a fundraiser for the organization and its historic building, 1731 E. Seventh Ave., in Ybor City. At a recent luncheon for the Newcomers of Northwest Hillsborough, member Gerry Ostroff revisited the place of her birth. The luncheon, which featured period fashions from La France, took place at the historic don Vincente hotel in Ybor City. Ostroff told the group that she was born at the A.A. Gonzalez Clinic and Hospital built by V.M Ybor. Norma Puglisi, another member and fashion show model, said she was a patient in the room used for dressing the models. The fashion show, coordinated by Marianne Sapsera and Karen Trott, included dresses and accessories from 1910 through 1980. ...more
