A marketing tour buzzed through Tampa on Thursday as a member of a demolition crew used an industrial strength hacksaw to cut a Nissan in half. Electric Supply and Lenox hosted Team Hackman, described as a bunch of "master cutters," which used a monster reciprocating saw to gnaw through the car in one minute and 29 seconds. The team travels across the country to slice up cars, buses, trucks, houses, planes, trains and anything else they can get their hands on, according to a written announcement of the visit. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection has charged the owner of a waste-tire hauling company with illegally dumping about 20,000 to 30,000 tires on property he rents for his business, according to an arrest report. Duane James, 59, of 5212 Lady Rose Court, Lutz, also faces a charge of failing to comply with environmental rules because he didn't have the required permit from the DEP to store more than 1,500 waste tires at the site, the report said. ...more
